Hi I'm Leanne
I'm a Counsellor, Art Therapist, Emotional Freedom Techniques Practitioner, and for more than 30 years I have been supporting women through the messy, challenging and sometimes overwhelming parts of life. I am passionate about supporting women to treat themselves with compassion and kindness
What you can expect when you come to see me is firstly to be heard in a safe and confidential space and at a pace that feels safe for you. Your sessions with me are focused on what you want to work on, this is grounded in my belief that you are the expert of your life.
I work with women experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, grief, trauma, burnout, difficult life transitions, low self-worth and struggles with food, weight and body image. I’m also interested in what can sometimes get missed when we focus only on the problem, you as a whole person.
Talking is incredibly valuable, but sometimes talking alone isn’t enough. That’s why my work can also include creative expression, body-based approaches, mindfulness and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). You never need to be “creative” or good at art to work this way. These are simply different ways of exploring what can be difficult to put into words.
A thread that runs through all of my work is self-compassion. Many women have spent years caring for everyone else, pushing through, criticising themselves or believing they should be coping better. I want our work together to offer something different, a space for curiosity rather than criticism, and for you to begin treating yourself with the same kindness you so readily offer others.
A little reminder, you don't have to be in crisis to come to counselling, sometimes you might simply know that something doesn’t feel quite right. You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or noticing the same patterns showing up again and again.
If any of this sounds like it might be what you are needing please feel free to reach out and book a free 20 minute phone or online chat.
I am a Level 2 member of The Australian Counselling Association.
