Counselling can help you
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that most of us experience at some point in our lives. Anxiety is more than just feeling stressed or worried. Stress and anxious feelings can be a common response to situations where we feel under pressure, they usually pass once the stressful situation has passed. Anxiety is when these anxious feelings don’t go away, when they’re ongoing and happen without any particular reason. Depression is more than just experiencing a low mood, it is a serious condition that affects your physical and mental health. Depression affects how you feel about yourself and makes life more difficult to manage from day to day. Through counselling here on the Central Coast, Leanne is able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances like domestic and family violence, sexual assault, accidents. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. The experience of trauma impacts every area of functioning, including physical, mental, behavioural, and social. I can help you manage these symptoms and guide you through the process of healing. This is done in a safe manner using trauma informed principles and practices.
Being a woman today it is difficult to avoid body image issues. Today’s popular media have constructed an idealised image of what ‘beautiful’ is. But most images are photoshopped to show body shapes that are impossible to achieve. Many of us also turn to food to relieve stress or cope with unpleasant emotions such as sadness, loneliness, or boredom. After eating, we feel even worse. Not only does the original emotional issue remain, but we also feel guilty for overeating. Through counseling you can learn self compassion and how to implement positive health behaviours
